IMHO, this is a very bad idea.
Most people want to read the man pages.
I've never seen, in the cs labs here, or anywhere i've worked (not
counting Red Hat, where I couldn't really see what everyone else was
doing, being a remotee, but i have a suspicion some were looking at the
texinfo docs. :P), anyone pull out the texinfo docs.
If you mention texinfo to a lot of gcc users, they'll look at you funny.
mention the man page, and they'll know what you are talking about.
