Out of interest, has (a variant of this) patch been included in Red Hat's
GCC 2.96 that is shipping with Red Hat 7.0?
Also, did I understand correctly, that this patch is necessary for correct
resp. ABI compliant UltraSPARC 64-bit code generation?
I'm asking, because if the answer is Yes, this means that GNU/Linux
distributors for UltraSPARC in 64-bit will have to provide patched
compilers (as Red Hat has done) and there's no way they'll be able
to use GCC 3.0 instead.
(If so, there's probably nothing we can do about that, but we could
at least document this somewhere...)
