Which is why move2add_note_stores has:

    }
  else
    {
      unsigned int endregno = regno + HARD_REGNO_NREGS (regno, mode);

      for (i = regno; i < endregno; i++)
	/* Reset the information about this register.  */
	reg_set_luid[i] = 0;
    }
