That's why I'm not using them ;-)
popdir is just a sequence of `.' with the same length as ML_POPDIR.
But I agree it deserves comments or renaming. Ok to install after
renaming popdir to rxpopdir and adding a comment after its assignment
explaining that it is used to avoid being bitten by sed active
meta-characters?
