Right, not only does this prevent getting clean results, it also
prevents non-x86 users from regenerating check.diff.

Okay thanks. To make your cleanup easier, I'll hold off installing my
latest set of test_text additions you recently approved, until you let
me know everything passes again. Then I should be able to install a
new check.diff myself.
