You'd definitely need a new assignment since I can't find a GCC one one file
with the FSF. Most likely it was simply lost.
In fact, it might be wise to do a past & future assignment just to be 100%
sure we've got all the right paperwork.
RMS can get you the proper forms.

You can get it from the snapshots or the CVS tree.
No work is happening with the old backend. Zilch. Patches against the
old backend are basically useless.
