I'm sorry, autoconf has been frozen for a long time, initially by Ben
Elliston, aiming at a release, and then, after he quit, until the new
team of maintainers was set up.  However, Ben accepted to remain
responsible for maintaining config.guess and config.sub, but he hasn't
got Kerberos access to the GNU hosts, where these files are officially
maintained, so the CVS repository at anoncvs.gnu.org, particularly to
the `common' directory, is currently very outdated.

Tom Tromey is currently forwarding patches for these files from the
autoconf-patches mailing list to Ben, and they're piling in Ben's
mailbox until the kerberization people at gnu.org fix it.

Ben, how about maintaining these files at subversions.gnu.org, so that
you could get to them via OpenSSH?
