error while installing gcc3.4.1 in compaq unix v5

hi, 

 i am facing the following error while executing make
command

Configuring in libiberty
configure: loading cache ./config.cache
configure: error: `CFLAGS' has changed since the
previous run:
configure:   former value:  -O
configure:   current value: -g
configure: error: changes in the environment can
compromise the build
configure: error: run `make distclean' and/or `rm
./config.cache' and start over
*** Exit 1
Stop.


what should i do to continue installing?
