First of all do u have gcc296 or g++296 in ur /usr/bin/ directory....
If u have those two files, then u check ur PATH environmental variable
whether it is having the /usr/bin/ path et or not....
If u don't have gcc296, g++296 or if they don't work , then u need to
install development tools
package from the OS cds.... Normally by default in RHL9.0, gcc3.2 is being
shipped....
This might solve ur problem.....
