hi,
[sorry, if I posted this on the wrong mailing list!]
I want to program a special kind of shell, that offers only a limited
set of commands for communication with com-ports as well as a few
administrative tasks.
what I need is:
- a bash-like shell interface
- command history
- command completion
- communication with a comport
- communication with a mysql database
what I would like to have is
- a hyperterminal-like connection to a comport.
that is: on the com-port there will be the console of a cisco-router.
since I will have many routers on many different com-ports, I like to
have a possibility to forward the routers own console and use the
command-completion of the router rather than my own.
what gnu-sources/other free sources would you recommend to build such
an application?
gruss
