It should be unnecessary to remove gcc 3.2.2: Multiple compilers can
coexist on the same system.  

To choose a compiler set the CC or CXX environment variable to the
compiler you would like to use.  For example:

        $ export CC=/usr/local/bin/gcc295
        $ ./configure
        [...]
