what does this error mean?

dear sir:
    i got a gcc 2.95.2 from gnu homepage for my aix 4.2 .while i installed it to my risc6000, errors occured in step 2 --- building:

    make bootstrap

this is the error:

    ./gencheck > tmp-check.h
exec():0509-036 Cannot load program ./gencheck because of the following errors:
       0509-022 Cannot load library libc.a[shr.o].
       0509-026 System error:A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
make:1254-004 The error code from the last command is 255.
Stop.
make:1254-004 The error code from the last command is 2.
Stop.
make:1254-004 The error code from the last command is 2.
Stop.



can you tell me what these errors mean?
