Error in rpc/clnt.h ?



Hello,

I have installed gcc 2.8.1 on SunOs 4.1.3. 

I have the following error while trying to compile one of my
applications.

"too many arguments to function"

This is what I have after investigation:
1. My application is calling a macro "clnt_geterr" defined in
/usr/include/rpc/clnt.h

2. This macro is defined as
#define clnt_geterr(rh, errp)   ((*(rh)->cl_ops->cl_geterr)(rh, errp))

3. cl_geterr (also defined in this header file) as 
void (*cl_geterr)(); 
however does not take any arguments.

This is what the complier complains about. I can get rid of the
error by changing the definition of clnt_geterr in the header file as
under:
#define clnt_geterr(rh, errp)   ((*(rh)->cl_ops->cl_geterr)())

Morever, the application compiled with the original header file with
the old compiler (gcc-2.7.2.1)

Is there any other work around other than having to modify the system
header file? Do I need to get an updated version of clnt.h?

Any response will be appreciated.
