I didn't know about -std=gnu++0x. That seems to work. -std=c++0x doesn't.
FWIW, the stock gcc that comes with cygwin is 3.4:
$ g++ --version
g++ (GCC) 3.4.4 (cygming special, gdc 0.12, using dmd 0.125)
