That's because linux doesn't use collect2. With 3.1, I currentls see
bash-2.05a$ nm libstdc++.sl.4.0|grep GLOBAL|grep FI|less
_GLOBAL__FI_libgcc_s_sl| -4|uext |stub |
_GLOBAL__FI_libgcc_s_sl| |undef |code |
_GLOBAL__FI_libstdc___sl_4_0| 484704|extern|entry |
_GLOBAL__FI_libstdc___sl_4_0| 484728|extern|code |$CODE$
_GLOBAL__FI_libstdc___sl_4_0| 485100|uext |stub |
The library internal name is
bash-2.05a$ chatr libstdc++.sl.4.0
libstdc++.sl.4.0:
...
internal name:
libstdc++.sl.4
This is ok. However, the issue reported must be kept in mind when the
library version is next updated.
