This may be premature to report. imake broke with gcc 3.1 snapshot as
the main compiler named gcc, because it depends on an argument '-'
working for compile from standard input.
I decided to try compiling X with 3.1 after kludging imake. The
server wouldn't load the libraries that were made, because of a bunch of
unresolved .LC# symbols.
