MySQL uses -O3 as default. -O1 and O2 reports the same error. -O0 seems to work, at least the compiler doesn't report any internal error.


>How-To-Repeat:
Download MySQL 4.0.0-alpha from www.mysql.com, extract in a directory. I used the following configure-argument
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql-4.0.0 --localstatedir=/disk3/mysql/datadir-4.0 --with-pthread --without-debug
Then do 'make'

A faster method is probably to un-tar the source. Do 'cd mysql-4.0.0-alpha/mysys', submit the compile command in the description.
