Please disregard the earlier message, it was
a side-effect of another problem.
But another persists; the autoconf still thinks
that -lc is needed for linking gcc from a previous
gcc build, which is not true. ac_cv_cmds_needs_lc
should be false when building gcc with gcc on Irix.
