>Environment:
System: Linux roadrunner.tapir.caltech.edu 2.2.14-5.0 #1 Tue Mar 7 21:07:39 EST 2000 i686 unknown
Architecture: i686
host: i686-pc-linux-gnu
build: i686-pc-linux-gnu
target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
configured with: ../gcc-3.0/configure --prefix=/ufs/newman/users/derrick/gnu/gcc-3.0
>Description:
If the -g3 option is present when generating dependency information
with -M, macro definitions are spuriously output as well.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try
#define debug
#include <iostream>
void f() { }
Then 'g++ -M -g2 preprocbug.cc' works correctly but
'g++ -M -g3 preprocbug.cc' produces additional unwanted output.
>Fix:
Don't use -g3 when producing only dependency information.
