>Environment:
SuSe Linux 6.4
>Description:
The code in "How-To-Repeat" contains a if-else-statement
in line 48. I expect the program to go into the else part
and print "okay". But it goes into the if part and prints
"failed"
If you change one (or both) of the #if 1 statements
(lines 36, 42) to #if 0, the program behaves as I expected
and prints "okay".
What the program does is the following:
a pointer to a member function (TestClass::int_to_int)
is stored in the member of another class (Method::method).
An instance of Method is created and casted to its
base class (MethodBase). It is casted back to Method
and the member function pointer is compared with
the correct value (TestClass::int_to_int). The comparison
fails if the creation is done in a separate function and
a dynamic_cast is used.
>How-To-Repeat:
#include <iostream>

{
public:
virtual ~MethodBase(){}
};

const MethodType& method;
};
class TestClass
{
public:
int int_to_int(int x){ return x; }
};
typedef int (TestClass::* int_to_int_f)(int);
MethodBase* get_method()
{
return new Method<int_to_int_f>(&TestClass::int_to_int);
}
int main()
{
Method<int_to_int_f>* method;
MethodBase* methodBase;
#if 1
methodBase = get_method();
#else
methodBase = new Method<int_to_int_f>(&TestClass::int_to_int);
#endif
#if 1
method = dynamic_cast<Method<int_to_int_f>*>(methodBase);
#else
