make uninstall doesn't work?

Hi.
SunOS 4.1.4
gcc 2.95.2
I tried to make uninstall in objdir and I get:
"the uninstall target is not supported in this tree"
There is no [Mm]akefile in srcdir, so how do I make uninstall?
Couldn't find anything at http://gcc.gnu.org/index.html that addressed this.
