gcc-2.95 cannot be build on DEC OSF 3.2C with native cc/as/ld, but
egcs-1.1.2 built okay. Apparently something was changed between the two
releases that caused it to fail.
Anyway, according to the configure scripts with gcc-2.95, ld works on alphas
but cannot work with shared libraries, and as works without exception
information. It's quite crippled even if it works...
