Finally, after many unsuccessful attempts, I managed to bootstrap egcs
again. After a new clean checkout of egcs-2.91.61 19990216 (egcs-1.1.2
pre-release-1) and applying Geoff Kuenning's egcs-3b.diff patch, the
bootstrap ran under LinuxPPC-pre-R5 (this is glibc-2.1 based).
Neither under the current stable LinuxPPC-R4 (glibc-961212), which
corresponds also to Mklinux, nor with any of the recent snapshots did I
have any luck.
While writing this, I just see that pre-release-2 is appearing. Oh well,
back to the compiler..
