: lat_mem_rd.c is a program to determine memory latency.

This is my bug, not GCC's, it's doing the right thing.  The fix is to
use the pointer as is done in the latest version of lmbench.  Check out
the lat_mem_rd.c found in ftp://ftp.bitmover.com/lmbench/lmbench-2alpha11.tgz
