Hi
I've been having problems running linux kernel 2.0.35 when compiled with
eggs 1.1b
Firstly I should state that I only just found the web page on
configuring and building egcs, but I have read the instructions in the
README file that comes with egcs, and the compiler seems to compile
fine.
When I compile 2.0.35 with egcs 1.1b, the kernel compiles fine (I get a
few warnings that I dont get with gcc, such as a non-void function,
doesn't return anything). I boot the new kernel image up, and it works
fine, until I try to load X. When X tries to load I get a blank screen
and nothing happens. I can switch back to another terminal, and still be
in text mode..
If I compile the EXACT same source with the original gcc that comes with
R.H. 5.1 (cant remember version no) , I dont get this problem at all..
I will re-compile egcs with the instructions that I've found on your web
page, but I was wondering if you'ld come across this problem before.
Ken Faulkner.
