I assume this must be the problem when using the sun
ld program, as some members of the list have pointed out.
I am just installing the new snapshot, along with new
binutils, and will do a
./configure --with-gnu-as --with-gnu-ld --with-ld=/sw/local_o/bin/ld
I'll check if that works
