Thanks to NT and chkdsk, I had the opportunity today to roll back
to egcs-1.0.2 and install from scratch.  I have changed from ash
to bash for configure and make, and this makes no difference to
the following problem:

In spite of config.log appearing correct, it is necessary to append
#undef HAVE_INTTYPES_H to xm-cygwin32.h.

I'll watch for issues building and installing libg2c.a on this and
the Irix6.4 rebuilds, both of which have been troublesome here.
I've got testsuite running on hpux10.20 and irix6.4.
