funky configure-target-* errors

During the process of configure-target-libio and configure-target-libstdc++
(--target=i386-msdosdjgpp, which _does_ work for these subdirs, contrary to
the toplevel configure warnings), I saw the following which did not appear
to break the build, but caught my eye:

1: not found
Created "Makefile" in
/usr/SRC/netbsd/pkgsrc/cross/i386-msdosdjgpp/work.arm32/egcs-19980727/i386-msdosdjgpp/libstdc++
using "target-mkfrag"
e: not found
i: not found

"1"? "e"? "i"?

I'll attempt to look more into this. It's not a fatal error, but it does
look fishy...
