Personally I would like to see it like that, but what do the experts
(Jeff, Joe,...) think about it?

There's also the problem of installing Fortran .info files, which we
have briefly discussed some time ago, even when Fortran is not being
bootstrapped/installed at all.
I would like to see also this one fixed (be)for(e) 1.1.
