Ah, got the same on powerpc-unknown-linux-gnulibc1 with egcs-971105 +
Richard Henderson's libio patch updated for Linux/PPC
<http://homepages.munich.netsurf.de/Franz.Sirl/misc/ppclibc1.diff>. egcs
was configured with only --prefix=/usr.
Seems to be a general issue on some platforms?
