make install and libf2c.a

Hello everybody,
i just build the latest egcs (971031) right out of the box with:
./configure --prefix=/usr/egcs
make
make install
Everything works fine (Linux-i386 system), so i must say
"Well done" to all of you.
Only one little problem: the libf2c.a library is installed in
/usr/egcs/lib/libf2c.a
and (!)
/usr/egcs/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnulibc1/egcs-2.90.15/libf2c.a
Can anybody with knowledge of the makefiles fix this little prob ?
