Sure.

Note that this will mean that crosses or install testing are still broken (as they don't read this file.)

I know Benjamin, but really cross compilation isn't my area. If you cannot allocate time to fine tune the recent changes, maybe we could simply revert parts some bits, I don't have any smart idea, sorry.
