Hey Phil,
Everything seems OK at this end build-wise (ref5 will report BSD check
regressions tomorrow) on i386-*-freebsd4.8. Without doing extra work,
I could only spot test automake 1.7.5 (patches vs. GNU but none should
affect output; 1.7.6 not in our ports system yet) and autoconf 2.57
(zero patches from GNU) on this platform:
* aclocal.m4: (difference looked reasonable based on 175->176 diff)
* config.h.in: (identical)
* configure: (starting with your aclocal.m4, no logical change [1])
* Makefile.in: (warned that I had wrong version; output missing stuff)
Of course, I will refrain from committing regenerated files in
libstdc++-v3 until I have 1.7.6 installed locally.
Random comment: They sure are slower than the old autotools...
[1] Well, one of us has a patched copy of GNU autoconf-2.57 or other
environment introduced randomness (looks "mostly harmless"):
