-Wformat borked?

Does everybody already know that -Wformat doesn't detect fprintf
argument errors, any more, in gcc-3.x on at least some Linuxes?
I haven't tried other compiler or libc versions yet. If this isn't
well-known, I'll investigate further. (Bugzilla had nothing to offer.)
