according to validator.w3.org these docs aren't fully conforming, because
the DTD says they are plain HTML, which means the self-closing tags such
as <link ... /> are illegal.
With the following DTD they conform to XHTML 1.0 Transitional:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Was the DTD left as HTML intentionally, so that it is handled correctly by
browsers that aren't fully conformant (i.e. most of them) ?
