It is part of the gcc (2.95.3) distribution, although then it is
called libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so.
(where I believe the libc part is generated dynamically depending
on what libc you have installed during compilation of gcc).
If you install the "C++ compiler", you should automatically get it.
If you use rpms, its part of the gcc-c++ rpm. Some vendors make a
seperate 'libstdc++' rpm because they think that it is needed in
order to run applications that use it on systems that don't have
a C++ compiler installed, hence the confusion I guess.
