that's... disturbing

Something I just noticed; here's a sorted-by-size list of the configure
scripts in the GCC tree:

-rwxr-xr-x   545816 Jul 26 17:34 ./libstdc++-v3/configure
-rwxr-xr--   273539 Jul 20 16:24 ./gcc/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   126159 May 11 16:13 ./texinfo/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   98758  Jul 26 13:37 ./libiberty/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   60753  Oct 12  1999 ./libf2c/libU77/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   52296  Feb 24  1999 ./libf2c/libI77/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   52051  May 18 15:49 ./libf2c/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   51601  Jun  1 15:28 ./libchill/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   50373  Jul 26 13:37 ./configure
-rwxr-xr-x   48045  Mar 12 22:43 ./libf2c/libF77/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   46228  Jul 20 16:24 ./libobjc/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   29649  Nov 23  1998 ./etc/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   26783  Mar 24  1998 ./texinfo/testsuite/configure
-rwxr-xr-x   19750  Jan 11  1999 ./gcc/ch/configure

I don't believe I've previously been able to say that, yes, I've contributed
to producing a *shell script* that's bigger than half a meg. Yikes. :-(

Phil
