+ I think this is a great idea, especially including the GotW
+ pointers. So then
+ this stuff would be filed under the 21 directory, or
+
+ 21strings
+ 22locale
+ or whatever?
If they're going to be pointed to by the HTML FAQ, I was thinking
docs/faq/html/index.html (or whatever the top one gets
called)
/21strings.html
/29io.html
and so forth. This assumes that all the HOWTOs/notes are collected in a
single document, of course, rather than a bunch of little ones. That has
its own pros and cons.

+ I've got some snippets on string handling (ReplaceAll,
+ ParseString) that I could contribute. Do you offer to
+ co-ordinate the effort
+ on strings? ;)
I hereby so offer (how /did/ you guess?). I'd like to see what needs to be
changed in the base FAQ before submitting anything new (for all I know, the
HTML I wrote could set some version of IE4 on fire (what a shame)), so I
don't make the same mistake several times. I'll start collecting anything
on any chapter that anybody wishes to throw my way, though!
