This is the wrong list for this question - gcc-help@gcc.gnu.org
would be more appropriate.

If you stick to standard (ANSI/ISO) C/C++, you'll find GCC is
not too different (except perhaps stricter and more
standards-compliant) from other compilers. You should read the
manual for the version of GCC that you're using if you want to
use non-standard constructs. See:
