Why? I don't see why it should.

Well, if the package really is pre-compiled then it will inherently depend gcj rather than jdk. I don't know how Java packages work these days, but I guess they could be compiled and cached "at need".


Still, does your Q/A really want to support that Java Application X works with *any* valid Java implementation Y, including third-party ones?
