Maybe, but a table is easier to scan/parse by eye than a text with different fonts. Also, if you have to spend more than a few words on notes than one could add a footnote.
I agree that a text is easier to handle in the jungle of browsers we have than a table.


If the target works, you don't need anything more than Ok.  If it
partially works, you need to briefly summarize what doesn't work,
or what special tricks you need, and I think the existing format
works better for that.
