Re: gcj, gij; dynamic compile problem?

Seems to be a problem with RH 7.3. The code worked fine on RH 9.

Don't know what is wrong with 7.3. I suspect libdl and ld. It could be the 2.4.19 kernel but that seems unlikely. I suspect that Steve W. is 2.4.18, and RH 9 is 2.4.20.

Thanks

Steve et all,

The "new" that is used is from the boehm gc. I am inclined to think to agree with Tom that it is not glibc but in libdl or the ld.
I ran the same test using the same gcc build(built on RH7.3) on RH 9 box and it worked better. Actually ran the code but died in _fini unloading libgcj, again possibly pointing to a libdl, ld problem.

I am rebuilding gcc on RH 9 to try the test again. r

Steve, How old is your glibc? I have 2.2.5, perhaps an update is needed to 2.3 for gcj
and gij such that only the static switch works. Anybody else know about how many
of the newer features of glibc are used in gcj?
