I tried with my nightly build tree and I'm seeing what you see.
So something is really wrong.

I'm updating my 3.3 tree to see what effect that has.
I'm going to do a clean build as well (ordinarily I do incremental
rebuilds, though my nightly build is from scratch, and that's where
the problem first appeared...).

That's interesting information.  We had a change here recently:
Andrew's gjavah.c patch.  That's a suspect right now (but so is every
change).
