Yeah, me neither.  That's what happens when everybody has the same
goal :-)

It may be possible to fix the verifier bug for 3.3.  I really want to.
The problem is time.  If someone else wants to take a stab, I could
try to explain it.

Otherwise we could add a flag or just disable the verifier.  That this
code doesn't run is certainly a regression from when we didn't try to
verify at all...
