Re: PATCH in Java constant propagation

Could this patch be applied in the 3.2 branch, too?
If it improves things there and does not cause extra work,
why not include it into the 3.2.1 release?
As i understand it, 3.2.1 is a bug fix release for 3.2 which
would have become a 3.1.2 without the API changed).
3.3 will last quite some time from now on.
Well, the web-site says "fixes for regressions only" - this is
probably a long-standing bug. And it is not a patch I'd qualify
as "obvious" or "without risk", though I think it is fairly
clean and safe.
However, I don't know the precise policy, so feel free to propose
the patch on the gcc-patches list.
