I think there are two good options:
* Change jython. Long term this is best.
* Change gcj to have an option so that it doesn't recognize "assert"
as a keyword (the JDK javac has this). I think the code to do this
would be pretty small, just a hack in lex.c (plus the command-line
recognition and of course the documentation).
Care to submit a PR for this?
