Thanks for the responses - I just want to check that I have understood what
was said.
The bottom line seems to be that GCJ *should* work on AIX, although the
"java collection
of packages" is not enabled in the top level configure.
Not too sure what this configure point means - does this mean that he will
need to alter the
configure script in some way ?
However, inner classes will *not* work due to the $ name-mangling problem
(which requires
a pretty major fix - including coming to an agreement with the gcc C++
folks).
Presumably all this applies to the latest cvs version, so his best bet is
probably to get that?
Is that a reasonable summary or have I missed something ?
