I'm on track now; the symptoms I reported earlier disappeared with the
explicit -I trick so I've moved ahead. libgcj is behaving as it should
(below). A short between the ears no doubt.
Thanks for the help!!
PS: Where can I go to learn Classpath/AWT progress? I understand more of
it is working now.
