Doing a
CLASSPATH=. make classes2.class
works. The classloader is:
gnu.gcj.runtime.SystemClassLoader{urls=[], parent=gnu.gcj.runtime.ExtensionClassLoader{urls=[], parent=null}}

Shouldn't "." be in the default CLASSPATH, if not specified?
