That's why I suggested to have an autoconf test for the breakage (whatever it is; you haven't described it yet, AFAIK).



I observed "breakage" (SIGSEGV in dladdr) with the gcc-3.3.1 version of the patch under some but not all conditions. A version of libgcj with all AWT stripped out seems to have a working dladdr but a "full" libgcj used by a 100,000 line java program seems to fail in dladdr. All of this with glibc 2.2.4.

Also I am in a cross-compiling environment so autoconf cannot detect the breakage anyhow.
